Palisander Recorder Quartet

Palisander prides itself on presenting imaginative historical programmes with a wide range of repertoire; performing largely from memory on recorders up to 6 feet tall. Graduates of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Palisander has quickly established itself as a vibrant young ensemble. The group were delighted to be selected for the prestigious St John's Smith Square Young Artists' Scheme 2016-2017 and are excited to be chosen as Making Music UK Selected Artists 2018-2019. Winner of the June Emerson Launchpad Prize for chamber groups, Palisander's debut album, Beware the Spider! was released in February and received a 4 star review from BBC Music Magazine.

Their programme will be Journey to the New World with percussionist Louise Anna Duggan. Inspired by Christopher Columbus' odyssey to the "New World", the Palisander Ensemble has designed an exotic programme combining court music from the explorers' countries and pieces inspired by the sea and the indigenous peoples of America.
