Weston Concerts Update

Dear Friends

The Lockdown regulations are beginning to be relaxed, but live performances of music or theatre indoors are still not allowed. It is not yet known what conditions will have to be met before they can return, nor when that might be. The situation is financially critical for performers, promoters and venues alike. We are now reluctantly having to cancel the three concerts planned for our Autumn season in late September, October and November.

We have invited both the Copenhagen Guitar Duo and pianist Simon Callaghan if they would provide a live streaming which we can share with our audience in return for a small donation. We will confirm arrangements for this as soon as they are clear.

We hope to invite the Emily Askew band back to play in Weston in November 2021.

Currently our Spring 2021 season remains as booked:

March 20th Piatti String Quartet

April 17th Alexander Chance (countertenor) & Toby Carr (lute)

May 15th Students from the Purcell School. Bushey

We will be watching developments carefully and let you know as things become more clear. Meanwhile we hope that you are finding alternative ways to feed your love of music

With best wishes

We promote six concerts a year, three each in Autumn and Spring, given by acclaimed professional classical musicians. We aim to provide a good variety of music, including two events a year which will appeal to lovers of the classical guitar. We are friendly people and newcomers are always welcome. Programmes and interval drinks are complimentary.
